The Faculty of Law was established in 1991 and was renamed the Faculty of Law and International Relations in 2014. The Faculty organizes studies in the three-level education system: Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD degrees with full-time and part-time studies and without chair divisions.

In 2019, within the structure of the University, the Faculty was accredited by the Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education (EKKA).
In the Faculty the professional education is carried out according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), the state educational standards of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the study programs approved by the Scientific Council of the Institute. The classes are taught by high-quality teaching staff equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge.
As a result of the student-centered policy formulated in the Faculty, the emphasis is put on teaching and learning methodology, formation of learning outcomes, as well as preparation of professionals with necessary knowledge, skills and competences who will meet the requirements of the international labor market.
The Law Clinic, established by the UN Development Program (UNDP), functions in the Faculty the students of which develop practical skills and competences of practicing legal knowledge in line with the labor market requirements.
The students participate in different state and international programs, moot courts, deliver free legal consultation to socially vulnerable people, refugees, organize seminars in public schools, thus fostering the increase of social responsibility of the University and Faculty.
The Faculty is in tight scientific-research relations with the institutes of the RA National Academy of Sciences, different subdivisions of the UN Armenian representation, the American Bar Association, RA Chamber of Advocates, private law firms, the Embassy and the Culture Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran, NGO sector and other organizations. The practical classes of the students are carried out in state bodies.
The alumni of the Faculty are successfully employed in Armenia, Europe, and the USA.
