GLAD (Governance, Learning, Action, Dialogue) Network Meeting on Work-Based Learning

On 29 November, the YHU CDEQA team attended the European Training Foundation (ETF) GLAD Network’s online seminar on work-based learning. The objective of that meeting was to discuss the characteristics of the successful organisation of work-based learning and to identify feasible options to support effective stakeholder participation in different areas. The speakers shared their experience in work-based learning programmes in VETs in Serbia, Montenegro, and Albania.

Self-Evaluation Meetings on Standards

Within the framework of the accreditation by the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA), the initial self evaluation working groups’ discussions came to an end at Yerevan Haybusak University. On 23 and 30 November, YHU stakeholders met to self- evaluate the "Student Support Systems", “Academic Ethics”, “Internationalisation”, “Research, Development and/or Other Creative Activity” and “Service to Society” standards.

Discussion on Teaching and Learning Methods at Yerevan State University

On 22 November, Yerevan State University hosted a discussion of teaching and learning methods. The meeting aimed to introduce and discuss the successful experiences of teaching and learning within the framework of Erasmus+ capacity-building programmes․ Mr. Karen Trchunyan, the Deputy minister of the Ministry of Education, science, culture and sport of the RA, participated in the panel discussions.
From YHU, M. Matosyan, Head of the Research Resource Centre, lecturer M. Muradyan from the Institute of Law and International Relations, lecturer L. Yengibaryan from Haybusak Institute of Medicine and the CDEQA team attended the event.

Participation in the European Quality Assurance forum

On 17-19 November, the 2022 European Quality Assurance Forum: Shaping or sharing? QA in a value-driven European Higher Education Area took place in the Romanian city of Timișoara, organized by the European University Association, European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, European Association of Institutions in Higher Education, and European Students’ Union which was attended by representatives of YHU vice-rector for Development and Education Quality Assurance H. Kazhoyan and CDEQA coordinator M. Hovhannisyan.
Within the framework of the forum a lot of helpful sessions, discussions, practical presentations, and meetings with leading experts in the field were held. Student volunteers of the West University of Timișoara made a great contribution to the organization of the event and were completely engaged in the organizational processes.
Ms. Ligia Deca, the Minister of Education of Romania, made an opening speech.
The speeches of the forum were devoted to the main values such as academic freedom, academic integrity, autonomy, trust, student and staff participation, as well as student involvement in quality assurance processes, etc.
All sessions contributed to gaining new experiences and learning.

Self-Evaluation Meetings on Standards

Within the framework of the accreditation by the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA), self-evaluation activities continue at Yerevan Haybusak University. On 27 October, 2, 10 and 14 November YHU internal and external stakeholders met to self-evaluate the “Strategic Management”, “Recourses”, “Quality Culture”, “Academic Ethics”, “Teaching Staff”, “Study Programme”, “Learning and Teaching” and “Student Assessment” standards.

Erasmus+ Day in National Library of the RA

On 14 October, the National Erasmus+ office and Erasmus+ Youth & Solidarity Corpus organized a meeting to present the programme and the experiences of its alumni.

The opening speech was made by Lana Karlova, programme coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Armenia. The programme alumni shared their European experiences and presented their success stories after participating in European programmes.

The participating students and staff members of Yerevan Haybusak University and its College gathered important information about the programme. The National Erasmus+ Team will visit the university on 19 October 2022 at 13:00 to conduct a presentation of the programme.

Self-Evaluation Meeting on “Strategic Management” Standard

Within the framework of the accreditation by the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA), self-evaluation activities have started at Yerevan Haybusak University. On 6 September, YHU internal and external stakeholders met to self-evaluate the “Strategic Management” standard. The participants performed group work and presented their results.

Participation In Francophone Forum on Education Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Central and Eastern Europe

French University in Armenia along with UNESCO and Agence universitaire de la Francophonie – AUF has initiated the Francophone Forum on Education Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Central and Eastern Europe to bring together experts of education quality assurance of higher education institutions of Central and Eastern Europe, to exchange experiences and propose solutions to the problems of the field.

The first hybrid forum was held on 24-25 February 2022 at French University in Armenia. The participants were welcomed by Professor Bertrand Venard, Rector of UFAR and Artur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA. The forum was also attended by francophone professors, quality specialists from Armenia, France, Canada, Tunisia, Romania, Moldova, UAE, Albania, etc. Also, H. Kazhoyan and M. Hovhannisyan, from the Development and Quality Assurance Centre of Yerevan Haybusak University, participated in the forum.

EQAC MEETING

On July 21, 2021, a meeting was held among the staff members of the Education Quality Assurance Center of YHU with participation of Yeva Torosyan, PhD, Head of the EQAC, Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the same Center, Narek Martirosyan, responsible person for quality of Roslin Academy of Art and Humanities and Arevik Khugeyan, responsible person for quality of the Institute of Law and International Relations.

During the meeting, Yeva Torosyan, PhD, Head of the EQAC informed the responsible persons for quality about the need of conducting a scheduled survey, as well as the need of collecting data on the modification of SPs, replenishment of the library fund, electronic library, organization of professional and teacher trainings and some other current issues were discussed.

PARTICIPATION IN OPENU PROJECT AND DAAD'S WEB SEMINAR ON QUALITY ASSURANCE OF EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES

On June 11, 2021, a web seminar was held on “Quality Assurance of European Universities” organized by the OpenU project and DAAD (Deutscher akademischer austauschdienst).

Within the framework of the topic, the speakers touched upon national and European policymaking of quality, assurance of internal and external quality, institutional accreditation, etc. During the web seminar, speeches were made by students as well.

PARTICIPATION IN EUROPEAN DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING NETWORK WEBINAR ON FACILITATING AND MENTORING STUDENTS' WORK TO REACH EXPECTED COMPETENCIES

On June 2, 2021, a webinar on “Facilitating and Mentoring Students’ Work to Reach Expected Competencies” organized by European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) was held.

The webinar was moderated by Vlad Mihaescu, Chair of EDEN Chair of EDEN Network of Academics and Professionals (NAP) Steering Committee. 

The speakers from Italy, Spain and Portugal shared their experiences about how to be a mentor and enabler for students particularly during the period of the pandemic when most of the students working from home and studying remotely face lack of interaction and psychological problems.

During the webinar the speakers also touched upon the distribution of critical thinking score at the first and last activity of the student within the framework of the result of the research of the pilot project on linking higher education to the workplace through critical thinking, as well as they covered competence-based learning and learner-centered approach, the connection of mentors as quality pioneers with students, etc.

PARTICIPATION IN EUROPEAN DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING NETWORK WEBINAR ON MEDICAL FACULTIES AND DIGITAL EDUCATION

On May 27, 2021, a webinar on “Medical Faculties and Digital Education” organized by European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) was held.

The webinar was moderated by Dr. Sandra Kučina Softić, President of EDEN. The speakers from the Jagiellonian University, Poland and University of Cologne, Germany touched upon the organization of online medical education before and during the pandemic, the issue of conducting lessons for future doctors more efficiently and interactively, productivity of the flipped classroom model and journey of making courses and modules online, enhancement of digital skills, close collaboration with IT specialists and modification of curricula, broad implementation of multimedia tools, differences between transnational and international education, differences between student mobility and student exchange and use of helpful applications and websites, integration of efficient IT tools for online quizzes and exams, mechanisms of assessment of online tests, etc.

On April 29, 2021, a webinar on of “Smooth recognition of academic qualifications: The role of quality assurance” took place organized by European University Association (EUA).

The webinar was chaired by Tia Loukkola, Director of Institutional Development, EUA.

The speakers covered the issues of academic recognition, mechanisms and shared the German and Spanish experiences.

On April 26, 2021, a webinar on “Learning Design in the Eye of the Storm” organized by European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) was held.

PARTICIPATION IN ERASMUS+ INFORMATION WEBINARS

On April 8-9, 2021, Erasmus+ information webinars were held, within the framework of which stakeholders were presented the grant opportunities of Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet Activities. 

At the online meeting, opening speeches were made by Artur Martirosyan, RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Mr. Gonzalo Serrano, Head of Cooperation Section of the European Delegation to Armenia.

Lana Karlova, National Erasmus+ programme coordinator and other guest speakers informed about the start of the calls and conditions for participation, as well as about cooperation opportunities with local, regional and international colleagues.

Guest speakers from Georgian, Kazakh and Ukrainian HEIs shared their experiences and presented steps, aimed at establishing and strengthening contacts with local and international institutions.

EQAC MEETING WITH MANAGEMENT OF “ROSLIN” ACADEMY OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES

On April 8, 2021, Yeva Torosyan’s meeting, PhD, Head of the Education Quality Assurance Center, was held with Meri Balayan, PhD, Director of Roslin Academy of Arts and Humanities and representatives of the top managers of the Academy.

During the meeting, Meri Balayan, Director of the Academy, introduced the activities of the re-structured Academy.

Y. Torosyan, Head of the EQAC, presented the further activities with the re-structured Academy targeted at education quality enhancement, highlighting the role and functions of each participant.

The meeting was also attended by Marianna Baloyan, PhD, Vice-director of Roslin Academy of Arts and Humanities, Stepan Voskanyan, Vice-director, Prof. Hayk Petrosyan, PhD, Professor, Arevik Khugeyan, responsible person for quality of the Academy and Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the EQAC.

EQAC MEETING WITH TOP MANAGEMENT OF INSTITUTE OF LAW AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

On April 6, 2021, a meeting was held between Yeva Torosyan, PhD, Head of the Education Quality Assurance Center, Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the same Center and Liana Malkhasyan, PhD, Director of the Institute of Law and International Relations, Satine Teroyan, assistant to the Director of the same Institute, Narek Martirosyan, responsible person for quality of the Institute, Levon Tumanyan, Head of the Department of Financial Economics.

During the meeting the following topics were touched upon – the most important provisions of the re-structured Institute, joint project with the other Institutes (Student Parliament, Student Scientific Society, social mission, international programs), as well as further replenishment of resources

Y. Torosyan presented further activities with the re-structured Institute, targeted at education quality enhancement. The modernization of the process of study programs with the involvement of the external stakeholders, replenishment of the library fund, implementation of scientific and research activities were highlighted.

PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL ONLINE KICK-OFF MEETING OF THE 7 NEWLY SELECTED ERASMUS+ CAPACITY BUILDING HIGHER EDUCATION (CBHE) PROJECTS

On March 17-18, 2021, the National Erasmus+ office in Armenia organized National Online Kick-Off Meeting of the 7 newly selected Erasmus+ Capacity Building Higher Education (CBHE) projects.
At the online meeting, opening speeches were made by Andrea Wiktorin, H.E. Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Karen Trchounian, RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Bertrand Venard, Rector of French University in Armenia.
Lana Karlova, program coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Armenia, presented the participants the statistics of participation in Erasmus+ programs of Armenia and regional countries.
At the meeting, grant project “Simulation in Undergraduate Medical Education for Improvement of Safety and Quality of Patient Care” (SAFEMED+) was also presented in which Yerevan Haybusak University is involved.

WEBINAR ON RESULTS OF THE SURVEY REPORT “DIGITALLY ENHANCED LEARNING AND TEACHING IN EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS”

On February 5, 2021, Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the Education Quality Assurance Center of YHU, participated in a webinar on Results of the survey report “Digitally enhanced learning and teaching in European higher education institutions” within the framework of DIGI-HE Webinar series: A strategic reflection on digitalization in higher education, organized by the European University Association.

During the meeting, the speakers once again introduced the DIGI-HE project and reflected on the results of the survey on digitally enhanced learning and teaching. The speakers presented the approaches of the survey participants across Europe on blended learning, hybrid learning, online degree courses, short courses, etc. They highlighted the necessity of having a strategic plan of teaching online. The speakers also introduced some differences of the survey results conducted in 2014 and 2020.

EUA WEBINAR ENSURING FAIR AND TRANSPARENT RECOGNITION PROCEDURES THROUGH BOLOGNA PROCESS TOOLS

On January 28, 2021, Yeva Torosyan, PhD, Head of the Education Quality Assurance Center and Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the Center, participated in a webinar on Ensuring fair and transparent recognition procedures through Bologna Process tools, organized by the European University Association.

During the webinar, the speakers covered the following: qualification recognition principles and procedures, Lisbon Recognition Convention, recognizing agencies, credit and qualification recognition of international students, transparency and format of diploma supplement, transparency and accessibility of recognition systems and improvement ways, European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), qualifications frameworks, European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance, etc.

WEBINAR ON DEVELOPING A HIGH-PERFORMING DIGITAL EDUCATION ECOSYSTEM: INSTITUTIONAL SELF-ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENTS

On January 26, 2021, Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the Education Quality Assurance Center of YHU, participated in a webinar on Developing a high-performing digital education ecosystem: institutional self-assessment instruments within the framework of DIGI-HE Webinar series: A strategic reflection on digitalisation in higher education, organized by the European University Association.

During the meeting, the speakers covered a range of questions e.g. how institutional self-assessment instruments contribute to developing digital education ecosystem, how and what institutional self-assessment instruments to use, methodology for analysis of instruments etc.

WEBINAR ON THE APPLICATION OF HYPOTHESIS SOCIAL READING TOOL IN THE MOODLE PLATFORM

On December 21, 2020, a webinar on the application of Hypothesis social reading in the Moodle platform took place, supported by the National Erasmus+ office in Armenia. The webinar was conducted by Anna Gevorgyan, Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Expert, adjunct lecturer at the American University of Armenia.

She presented the participants the opportunities and advantages of Hypothesis social reading tool in the Moodle platform and answered their questions.

WEBINAR WITH THE ACADEMIC STAFF OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

On November 26, 2020 a webinar for the Faculty of Social Sciences was held via Zoom platform, conducted by Lusine Ekmekchyan, methodologist of the study methodology department and Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the EQA Center. Within the framework of the topic “Student-centered learning” Lusine Ekmekchyan presented the formation and development of student-centered approach and its implementation. Mariam Hovhannisyan presented “The Activities of the Education Quality Assurance Center” which can be followed by visiting the section of the EQA Center of the website of Yerevan Haybusak University and its Facebook group.

At the end of the webinar the presenters addressed the questions of the participants.

WEBINAR ON “TWENTY YEARS OF SOCIAL DIMENSION IN THE BOLOGNA PROCESS THE STATE OF ART AND THE FUTURE”

On November 17, 2020 the European University Association organized a webinar on “Twenty years of social dimension in the Bologna Process the state of art and the future”.

The presenters discussed creating and enhancing inclusive learning environment, special attention towards students with physical or psychological problems, fostering participation in mobilities for students and staff from vulnerable backgrounds, enhancing physical, as well as broader range of mobility options and other principles.

On November 12, 2020, the Education Quality Assurance forum 2020 (EQAF 2020) took place online within the framework of which panellists representing different European Quality Assurance agencies shared their ideas about their role, development of quality culture, the efficiency of virtual institutional accreditation and other topics.

EUA WEBINAR ON INTRODUCTION TO THE EUROPEAN QUALITY ASSURANCE FRAMEWORK

On November 10, 2020, a webinar on the topic of “An Introduction to the European quality assurance framework” took place, organized by the European University Association (EUA).

The webinar was conducted by Tia Loukkola, Director of Higher Education Policy, EUA and Maria Kelo, Director of The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). The presenters spoke about Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance, as well as the development of quality culture, needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders, the scope of activities of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) and European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), etc.

DIGITALLY ENHANCED LEARNING AT EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS – STATE OF PLAY AND PROSPECTS

On November 5, 2020, the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) organized a webinar on “Digitally enhanced learning at European higher education institutions – state of play and prospects” within the framework of European Online Distance Learning Week (EODLW).
At the webinar, the panellists discussed the key findings of a survey on digitally enhanced learning and teaching among higher education institutions across Europe carried out by the European University Association, analyzed the response of European Universities to the crisis due to the pandemic, efficiency of blended learning, virtual mobilities, level of literacy in using digital technologies in different fields, digitalization and quality assurance processes, the role of digitalization in widening access to education and inclusion, priorities in the strategic development plan for the next 5 years and policy of digitalization.

WEBINAR ON PRACTICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL WAYS TO ASSESS YOUR STUDENTS ONLINE

On November 4, 2020, the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) organized a webinar on “Practical and Pedagogical Ways to Assess Your Students Online” within the framework of European Online Distance Learning Week (EODLW).
The European panellists covered the Irish experience, presenting the development programmes for staff for enhancing digital skills, competences and confidence, the importance of case study in using alternative ways of assessment, use and advantages of the ePortfolio network that is student-centered and fosters motivation and engagement, offering innovative assessment, supporting independent learning and employability; formation of online focus groups, the flexibility of assessment and reflection.

EUROPEAN DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING NETWORK WEBINAR ON NEW INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY PERSPECTIVES AND CHALLENGES FOR THE RAISING EUROPEAN CAMPUSES

On November 2-9 The European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) organizes European Online Distance Learning Week (EODLW) which started with a webinar on New international mobility perspectives and challenges for the raising European Campuses.
The renowned panellists from Spanish, Italian and Portuguese Universities presented the issues of international mobility given the pandemic, such as the opportunities of increased and geographically balanced mobility (physical, virtual and blended) for both students and staff, automated and efficient data exchange, facilitation of internationalization, developing joint or personalized diplomas, providing a multilingual
and multicultural environment, introducing a people-centered approach, opportunities of virtual mobility and exchange within the framework of Erasmus+ Virtual, boosting online cultural and other activates.

On 29th of October 2020, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Anna Harutyunyan participated in a seminar “Improving access and delivering quality flexible learning and assessment”

During the seminar, speakers represented the challenges which have been raised as a consequence of COVID-19. It has expedited digital transformation in higher education, which encouraged university staff to rethink how to deliver education to students. The seminar brought together leaders in higher education and various experts.

The experts discussed vital changes in technologies in the sphere of education. Moreover, in this new era of teaching, educators must give students flexibility in creating their own learning experiences. They need long-term plans because universities do not envision returning to the way they taught prior to the lockdowns. The future offers many opportunities, including greater use of learning analytics, more control of the pace of learning, recorded lectures, increased engagement, and wider access to education. Technology will play a vital role.

WEBINAR FOR THE ACADEMIC STAFF OF THE FACULTY OF HUMANITIES

Webinar of the Education Quality Assurance Center for the academic staff has resumed.

On October 28, 2020, a webinar for the Faculty of Humanities was held via Zoom platform, conducted by Lusine Ekmekchyan, methodologist of the study methodology department and Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the EQA Center. Within the framework of the topic “Student-centered learning” Lusine Ekmekchyan presented the formation and development of a student-centred approach, pointed out the advantages of student-centred learning for both students and academic staff. Mariam Hovhannisyan presented “The Activities of the Education Quality Assurance Center” and asked to visit the EQA Center section of the University website or join the Facebook group for staying up to date on the latest events.

At the end of the webinar, the presenters addressed the questions of the participants.

WEBINAR ON CLOSING THE GAP: THE BOLOGNA PROCESS AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

On September 29, the European University Association organized a webinar dedicated to the introduction of the Bologna process at the HEIs and closing the gap.
The speakers from Sweden and Belgium presented the history of implementation of the Bologna process, its positive impact on education quality, advantages and further perspectives. Ella Ritchie, the webinar moderator from United Kingdom, organized polls and discussed the results and also the questions of the participants.
From Yerevan Haybusak University the webinar was attended by Narine Martirosyan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the Education Quality Assurance Center.

PARTICIPATION IN DAAD CONSULTATION

On September 22, 2020 the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst)
Armenia office organized an online meeting via Zoom platform for stakeholders during
which Masters and summer school scholarships and application procedures were
presented. At the end of the consultation the participants had an opportunity of
addressing questions to the presenter.

TRAINING ON "POLICIES AND STRUCTURES OF DOCTORAL EDUCATION"

On July 15-17 a training on REFORMING DOCTORAL EDUCATION IN ARMENIA IN LINE WITH NEEDS OF ACADEMIA, INDUSTRY AND CURRENT EU PRACTICES (ARMDOCT) project was conducted within of the Erasmus+ Programme, aimed at Reforming Doctoral Education (DE) in Armenia in line with the Salzburg Principles, particularly through the development and revision of national policy, a legal framework (including by-laws) and institutional procedures supporting integrative and internationally-oriented doctoral studies involving universities, research institutions, and industry.

On June 22, 2020 the Paradigma Educational foundation organized a webinar on “What is formative assessment: How can we raise achievement?”, conducted by Dylan William, renowned British educator, coauthor of formative assessment.

WEBINAR ON “WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF TRANSNATIONAL EDUCATION?”

On June 17, 2020 the British Council organized an international webinar on “What is the future of transnational education?” within the frameworks of Higher Education Dialogues session. The webinar was held via Microsoft Teams app.

During the meeting the speakers discussed the issues of quality assurance of distance education, international cooperations, student exchange programmes given the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as clarified the comments of the attendees.

WEBINAR ON “HOW THE COVID-19 HAS CHANGED OUR UNIVERSITIES FOR GOOD”

On June 16, 2020 an international webinar on “How the COVID-19 has changed our Universities for good” took place, organized by the European Network of Living Labs Community with the invitation of the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance (ANQA). The meeting was held via GoToMeeting app.

During the first half of the webinar the presenters from Spain, Finland, Denmark and South Africa introduced their approaches towards distance learning given the pandemic and its impacts on stakeholders and during the second half of the meeting they discussed what the universities should do to be productive in the current situation.

On June 1, 2020 The Education Quality Assurance Center of YHU had a meeting via Zoom platform with the heads of the administrative staff members also attended by Rector Suren Harutyunyan.

To provide the administrative staff with a feedback, the summing-up of the survey on “Satisfaction with the Education Quality Assurance Center” was introduced.
The participants pointed out the areas where they could see progress and reforms, as well as some fields that still need reforms.

ARMDOCT PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME

The “Reforming Doctoral Education in Armenia in line with Needs of Academia, Industry and Current EU Practices” (ARMDOCT) Erasmus + project kick-off meeting was held on February 5, 2020.

The ARMDOCT project is the initiative of the French University in Armenia based on the “Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in Line with The European Integration” to promote the experience and basic outcomes of internationalization of research.

The discussions were conducted by the European collaborators who with their Armenian collaborators will present the best practice and ways of solutions of doctoral education quality assurance in the future.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Career Centre of Yerevan Haybusak University Narine Hovsepyan.

ERASMUS+ INFORMATION DAYS IN YEREVAN

The members of the academic and administrative staff of Haybusak University participated in Erasmus+ Information Days in Yerevan, set on November 7, 2019 in the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and November 8, 2019 at the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan.

Opening speeches were made by Arayik Harutyunyan, minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the RA, Lana Karlova, programme coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Armenia.

The participants of the panel sessions presented the Erasmus+ actions, their expertise in project participation and answered the questions of the attendees.

At the end of the event an Armenian-Spanish contact making seminar was organized at the prospect of cooperation of Armenian and Spanish HEIs.

EU TAIEX WORKSHOP “ACADEMIC DEGREES: TOWARDS EUROPEAN STANDARDS”

On 17-18 October Haybusak University staff members, including Martin Abrahamyan vice-rector for scientific affairs, Anna Sukiasyan, head of the Education Quality Assurance Centre, Gaspar Avagyan, vice head of the Centre, Narine Hovsepyan, vice head of the Centre and Head of the Career Centre, Seda Abrahamyan head of Postgraduate Education, Hayk Petrosyan, head of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology and Lilit Petrosyan, specialist of the PR participated in an workshop on “Academic Degrees: Towards European Standards”.

The main objective was to share European experience and expertise concerning the recognition of academic degrees and means of harmonization of relevant legislation.
The venue of the event was the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.

On October 10, 2019 Anna Sukiasyan, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of Education Quality Assurance Center of Haybusak University shared her experience as an alumna of a DAAD-financed project at the informative seminar on “Education in Europe: Share your experience with us!” initiated within the framework of Erasmus Days 2019. Both the lectures and the students were informed about the priorities of getting an education abroad; they got acquainted with one another and communicated with the alumni.

ERASMUS+ CONFERENCE ON “PROMOTING INTERNATIONALIZATION OF RESEARCH THROUGH ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATIONALIZATION OF CYCLE 3 QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM IN LINE WITH THE EUROPEAN INTEGRATION (C3QA)” PROJECT

On 26 September French University in Armenia (UFAR) hosted the final conference of the “Promoting Internationalization of Research through Establishment and Operationalization of Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in line with the European Integration (C3QA)” project where the representatives of Haybusak University were also present. RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arevik Anapiosyan, French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacotte, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Andrea Victorin, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office in Armenia Lana Karlova honored the opening of the conference with their presence. Narine Hovsepyan, Head of the Career Center and Deputy Head of the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) Center (responsible for study programs); Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist of the EQA Center; Arshaluys Harutyunyan, staff member of the Survey Division of the EQA Center; Seda Abrahamyan, Head of the Postgraduate Department, and Lilit Petrosyan, specialist of the Department of International Relations, all representing Haybusak University, took part in the conference.

The visit (Day 4) of the group of experts of the institutional accreditation conducted by the Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education (EKKA) came to an end. PUBLIC LECTURE

On April 11, 2019 a public lecture was held at Yerevan V. Brusov State University of languages and Social Sciences organized by Erasmus+ CBHE “SMART” project (Fostering University-Enterprise Cooperation and Entrepreneurship of Students Via Smart Caffes) during which the participants actively discussed and did group work on the choice of ideas, market analysis and approaches and communicating ideas. The lecture was delivered by Niki Verbrugghe, Senne Van den Broeck and Sylvie Vanrenterghem, visiting professors from VIVES University College, in Belgium. From Yerevan Haybusak University the lecture was attended by Narine Hovsepyan, Vice Head of the Education Quality Assurance Center, Mariam Hovhannisyan, specialist and Arshaluys Harutyunyan, responsible person for surveys.

On November 27-28, 2018 a seminar was held at Yerevan V. Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences dedicated to the development of entrepreneurship skills and design thinking at the HEIs.

SEMINAR LIBRARIES IN DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT: FORMATION OF EFFICIENT PLATFORM FOR COLLABORATION

On October 26, 2018 a seminar on Libraries in Digital Environment: Formation of Efficient Platform for Collaboration was held at the National center of innovation and entrepreneurship state non-commercial organization. During the seminar several issues were addressed such as the current problems of the replenishment of literature and the alternative ways of their solution, use of modern technologies in serving library collections, digitalization of resources in the context of copyright laws and the necessity of the protection of the originals.

DAAD (DEUTSCHER AKADEMISCHER AUSTAUSCHDIENST) AGENCY INFORMATION DAY AT YEREVAN JOURNALISM UNIVERSITY

An informational day organized by the German DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) agency and alumna of that agency, scholarship holder, PhD, associate professor Anna Sukiasyan took place at Yerevan Haybusak University on 17 October, 2018. The event was attended by both local and international academic staff members and students of Yerevan Haybusak University.

Thanks to Senior Programme Advisor Meri Navasardian and Programme Advisor Ruben Vardazaryan the participants had a wonderful chance to get acquainted with the DAAD programmes, short and long-term scholarship opportunities, summer schools, study/research and the procedure of applying to the DAAD.

The participants of the consultation actively discussed the opportunities of studying in Germany and got acquainted with the Agency’s manuals and flyers.

CONFERENCE ON "INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES OF HIGHER EDUCATION" WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF ERASMSUS+ BOOST

On Spetermber 27, 2018 an international conference on “International Perspectives of Higher Education” within the framework of Erasmsus+ Boost was held at Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan.

Opening speeches were made by Shahen Shahinyan, Rector of the Conservatory, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science and Lana Karlova, programmes coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office.

Local and foreign speakers from Spain, Estonia and other countries presented the essence of the strategy of internationalisation, success stories of international cooperation, best practices, as well as examples of frauds in the context of internationalisation of higher education.

Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences. The participants talked about entrepreneurial (social) initiatives and discussed the chances and obstacles of their inclusion at universities.

ERASMUS+ INFORMATION DAYS IN YEREVAN

On November 9-10, 2017 Erasmus+ Information Days were held at Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences in the framework of which the programme novelties were introduced.

The speakers from the Ukraine and Austria shared their experience of the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme at their Universities.

The Board member of the Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association Oleksandr Ivanov together with the Armenian participants gave practical tips for writing successful application packs for Joint Master Degrees.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR AND TRAINING WORKSHOP ON “TRACKING THE PROGRESSION PATH OF STUDENTS AND GRADUATES AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS (HEIS)

An international seminar and Training Workshop on “Tracking the Progression Path of Students and Graduates at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)” was held on October 30-31 2017 at Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences within the framework of the Technical Assistance Mission of Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts.

Productive discussions and active group works were held during the seminar, which was attended by the Head of the Education Quality Assurance Centre Anna Sukiasyan, Deputy Head of the same Centre (regarding academic programs) and the Head of the Career and Employment Centre Narine Hovsepyan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Anna Harutyunyan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Meri Balayan and specialist at the Education Quality Centre Mariam Hovhannisyan.

The participants received certificates.
