A Classroom Named after Professor Vrezh Parsadanyan was opened at Yerevan “Haybusak” University

The opening ceremony of the classroom of Iranian Studies took place within the Faculty of Law and International Relations at Yerevan “Haybusak” University. It should be mentioned that the classroom bears the name of a highly experienced and well-known lecturer of blessed memory, Professor of the Persian language and literature Vrezh Parsadanyan.

The opening ceremony of the classroom was attended by Rector Suren Harutyunyan, President of the International Academy of Education Anahit Harutyunyan, academic staff, students, relatives of Vrezh Parsadanyan, the Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mr. Shahbaz Solbi, and Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Iran Mr. Majid Meshki.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by Professor Vrezh Parsadanyan’s grandchild and the Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Anahit Harutyunyan emphasized in her speech that it was thanks to Vrezh Parsadanyan’s efforts that there is a classroom of Iranian studies at “Haybusak” Universiy. “He made efforts to maintain close ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, people working in the field of culture and other representatives; and now his name is associated with the classroom that was presented us with great love by the Iranian Embassy,” she said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law and International Relations, Geghetsik Grigoryan stressed that the opening ceremony of the classroom was scheduled for May 30, but, unfortunately, Professor Parsadanyan passed away on May 29. It is notable that the opening ceremony took place on the 7th day of Vrezh Parsadanyan’s death.

The Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Iran Mr. Majid Meshki noted that the death of Vrezh Parsadanyan was a loss not only for Armenia but also for Iran.
